Last night we discuss among other issues mental health, and several times during the discussion I heard the Fraze "psychosomatic illness" It is very strange for me, that I am a Medical doctor and a Homeopathic patient and I never could understood how can not all the disease been psychosomatic. How can you take your perception and your personal feelings from the perspective of a disease....is it for everyone the same or each individual experience different sensation associate with their perceptions, and specially if we are taking about mental health.
I hope this make sense for you...

Marina,
If I understand correctly, psychosomatic diseases are usually more prevalent in different cultures. It is really interesting to me that they can just as easily be alleviated without any scientifically proven drug or intervention. I think i'm going to get some accupunture sometime in the near future with all the stresses of school.
Actually, there is a great deal of somatic illness here in the US as well. People who present time after time to a primary care physician with unresolvable symptoms are likely affected by some psychosocial issue that has not been addressed. It's more common than we think. Stress leads to a great deal of illness world-wide, and it manifests itself in different ways.
Psychosomatic illness is a disease that is relevant in every culture. I think we can see this issue growing rapidly in the fast developing countries and developed ones like U.S. The more the stress level in the society the higher chance that nation is in facing this issue. I have seen many cases Psychological illnesses in a various cultures…..
What you are saying about all disease being psychosomatic in some way is totally true, I believe. The mind and it's thoughts are incredible powerful, we hear stories all the time about people healing themselves with mediation and positive thinking. I believe as do homeopathic doctors as you mentioned, that all illnesses are influenced by the mind in one way or another, for better or worse.
